Coach Rebecca brings over 15 years of experience in swim instruction and competitive coaching, along with a background as a former competitive swimmer and a six-year veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard. She has coached athletes of all ages and skill levels across clubs in Colorado, South Carolina, and Texas, guiding swimmers from their first strokes to achieving state-level success.
Known for her energy, technical expertise, and dedication to the craft of swimming, Rebecca has a keen eye for identifying potential and developing each athlete according to their individual strengths and goals. Her coaching philosophy emphasizes mastery of fundamentals, building confidence, age appropriate progression, while instilling a lifelong love for the sport.

10+ year rapids veteran and college level swimmer and engineer for Rochester Institute of Technology. I am super excited to assist with technique, race strategy, and anything and everything related to swimming. I specialize in the 100 and 200 freestyle, as well as the 100 fly and many other races. I can’t wait to see y’all out on the pool deck!
Hi I'm Kessen! I am so excited to be coaching again this season. I had so much fun coaching last year and can't wait to see everyone! I am a rising seniorr at Vandegrift High School, and I pole vault for the track team there. I did summer swim for 7 years and spent 3 of them on Rapids. My favorite stroke is breaststroke, and I can’t wait for a great season!!
Hi I’m Izzy! I swam with rapids for 6 years and this will by my third year coaching. I am going into my senior year of high school at Vandegrift. Some things about me is favorite stroke is backstroke, outside of swimming I love running, baking and hanging out with friends! Can’t wait for a great season!
I am currently a junior at Vandergrift High School. I started swimming with the Rapids when I was 5 years old! I kept swimming and now swim for a local competitive club team as well as for VHS (Go Vipers!) My favorite stroke is the butterfly! I love coaching and teaching a love for swimming and am available for private lessons as well. This is my second year coaching the Rapids and I can't wait to get the season started!
Hi I’m Lainey! I swam with the Rapids for 8 years and I am so excited to return to the program as an assistant coach! I am a going into my senior year at Vandegrift high school. Some things about me are that I play basketball and participate in track, along with playing club soccer at FC Westlake. My favorite stroke is breaststroke, I love coaching, and I am looking forward to helping young swimmers improve their technique and have fun! Can’t wait for a great season!
I am excited to return to the Rapids Swim Team as an Assistant Coach after swimming with the team since I was seven years old. I am currently a varsity swimmer at Vandegrift High School and love helping younger swimmers build confidence and improve their skills in the water. Outside of swimming, I am involved in my school’s robotics team and enjoy volunteering in my community. I am looking forward to supporting the team and helping swimmers have a fun and successful season.
I am a swimmer and swim instructor who has been part of the River Place Rapids community for years. I first swam for the River Place Rapids four years ago and now enjoy giving back by working with the program. I currently swim for my high school team, where I continues to develop my skills and passion for the sport. Having experience both as a competitive swimmer and as a former Rapids athlete, I am excited to help younger swimmers build confidence in the water while improving their technique and having fun.
